How much is the pay?
We pay commission based on 40% of the Gross Margin of the sale. 20% on shipment, 20% on collection.
A typical sale has a 44% Gross Margin, or 17.8% commission based on sales.
Average call in orders range betweeen $150 and $350. Your commission will range between $25 and $75. Repeat orders are the key to real money
If you get in the door early and sell the whole package, the commission on a water treatement plant can be $8,900, a large Apartment job $15,000

Who is Turnipseed International?
Jim Turnipseed (that really is his name) started Turnipseed Lumber in 1992. One day a superintendent on a Motel 6 in Elkton Maryland asked him if he could

How do I get Estimates?
If you can get electronic plans from your buyer, get him to email us the drawings, or send us paper plans, we will convert them
and estimate by sheet and detail. If you only want one detail estimated, we can do that.
We can estimate different trades and different types of buildings. We cannot read the designers mind, but
if it is on the plans we will find it and count it. We are not perfect, but we are very accurate.
We will give you the estimated count. You and your buyer will need to adjust for waste and loss.
We will email you an excel spreadsheet with the sheet, detail, quantity and item, with notes
Is Simpson Anchor System associated with Simpson Strongtie?
You bet. And Turnipseed International has be associated with them since 1992. We supply wood to wood connectors to the commercial construction business.
These connections are quoted on a job basis, you can get a quote from us on wood jobs. We have a substantial number of buyers in this market so check before
you promise a quote.
How do I get training?
We have a fairly simple training program, mostly based on the online Simpson Anchor Catalogue. We expect you to have a general understanding of the
construction business. We have several senerios that will show you basic sales techniques. The key is to find the buyer and get a chance to quote.
